Role Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled Computerized Flow Dynamics (CFD) Engineer to support the design and analysis of building engineering systems through advanced computational fluid dynamics simulations. The role is responsible for performing CFD studies related to smoke management, ventilation, thermal comfort, airflow distribution and specialized engineering applications while supporting multidisciplinary design teams to achieve compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, and client objectives.

The successful candidate will combine strong CFD modelling expertise with sound knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and Fire Protection systems, contributing to the development of safe, efficient, and sustainable building designs across a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables:

• Perform CFD analysis for smoke management systems, including underground and above-ground parking facilities and atrium spaces.
• Conduct airflow, thermal comfort, ventilation, and indoor environmental quality simulations.
• Develop CFD design criteria in coordination with relevant engineering disciplines.
• Prepare CFD conceptual studies and technical reports.
• Create and maintain CFD models, meshes, and simulation scenarios using industry-standard software.
• Evaluate simulation results and identify compliance with performance-based design requirements and project criteria.
• Coordinate with HVAC, Mechanical, Fire Protection, and Architectural teams to optimize system performance.
• Review and respond to client comments and technical review remarks.
• Present simulation methodologies, assumptions, findings, and recommendations to project stakeholders and clients.
• Support HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection designs when required by project needs.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical documentation, and QA/QC deliverables.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable international standards, local authority requirements, and project specifications.
• Utilize Autodesk Revit and related BIM technologies to support project delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, innovation, and sustainability-focused engineering solutions.
• Maintain compliance with DAR Engineering quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in CFD analysis and building services engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in smoke management and performance-based design studies.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, mixed-use, transportation, hospitality, healthcare, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, Fire Protection, and Building Services Engineering systems.
• Experience working within engineering consultancy environments is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Saudi Arabian regulations and international codes is advantageous.

Languages:

• Fluency in English is required.
• Proficiency in Arabic is essential.

Technical and Business Competencies:

• Advanced proficiency in CFD software such as ANSYS Fluent, PyroSim, FDS, SimScale, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of airflow, heat transfer, smoke movement, and ventilation engineering.
• Knowledge of international design standards including ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC, and related codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
