About the Job:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Design Engineer to join our Architecture team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering innovative, functional, and aesthetically appealing interior environments across a range of building projects. This role involves close collaboration with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure interior spaces are aligned with design intent, client requirements, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities / Deliverables:
- Develop and translate interior design concepts into detailed drawings and presentations.
- Prepare comprehensive design packages including layout plans, RCPs, elevations, sections, and material specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, MEP, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure interior solutions are fully coordinated.
- Select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, and lighting based on design, functionality, and sustainability.
- Create mood boards and presentations to communicate design intent and material selections to internal teams and clients.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations for interior design work.
- Support in the preparation of BOQs, technical specifications, and FF&E documentation.
- Conduct site visits, participate in inspections, and support implementation during fit-out phases.
- Stay current on design trends, material innovations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 3 to 7 years of proven experience in interior design, preferably in engineering or architectural consultancy firms.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creative and technically sound interior design work across building sectors.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, and other design visualization tools. Knowledge of rendering software (e.g., 3ds Max, V-Ray, Lumion) is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of materials, furniture systems, and lighting design.
- Experience in preparing construction drawings and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of local and international codes related to interior spaces.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.
