Roads Design Engineer

About the Job:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Roads Design Engineer to join our Infrastructure team at DAR Engineering. This position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about infrastructure development and eager to contribute to the planning and design of efficient, safe, and sustainable road networks. The selected candidate will work on diverse transportation projects within the T&D and urban infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:

• Develop road design drawings and documentation from concept to detailed design stages.
• Prepare alignment layouts, profiles, cross-sections, and horizontal/vertical geometry using Civil 3D.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines such as drainage, utilities, and structural teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Review project requirements and deliverables to ensure compliance with international standards and local regulations.
• Conduct site assessments, analyze survey data, and incorporate topographical information into designs.
• Contribute to the preparation of design reports, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Participate in technical reviews and support project teams during bidding, execution, and post-design services.
• Stay updated on advancements in road design technologies, software, and applicable design codes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in road/highway design projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is a must.
• Solid knowledge of road design standards such as AASHTO, MoT, or equivalent.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects is an advantage.
• Good understanding of hydrology and traffic engineering is a plus.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.

Knowledge and Functional Competencies:

• Strong technical background in geometric design and road modeling.
• Ability to interpret survey data and create terrain models.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Team player with good communication skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with collaborative design environments and document control systems.
