Job Purpose
To lead, develop, direct, and organize Electrical section of T&D department in Power Business Unit (PBU). Lead the team in providing Electrical engineering design of T&D projects from initiation to closing ensuring delivery through onshore and offshore design teams and in coordination with third parties, international partners and/ or sub-contractors.
Role Accountability
- Lead and manage the Electrical/Primary Design Section, overseeing the design process for Primary Substations.
- Develop conceptual designs and detailed construction drawings for LV/MV/HV/EHV substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in electrical system design, including equipment sizing, layout optimization, and system integration.
- Review and approve design deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project timelines.
- Coordinate with other related engineering disciplines Civil, Mechanical to ensure project requirements are met.
- Able to anticipate problems and make the necessary proactive steps to prevent them
- Ability to take necessary and proper timely decisions.
- Deliver the required results in timely manner with required quality and cost.
- Able to transform the corporate goals into business plans.
- Able to Plan, follow-up and execute those plans, whether they are annual or development plans.
- Monitor the plan performance and initiate action to strengthen results and take the corrective action accordingly.
- Provide periodic work progress reports.
- Develop the organizational structure according to the current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans.
- Develop, coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automations opportunities as much as possible.

Academic Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience:
- Minimum 15-18 years of experience in Electrical design and analysis of T&D projects along with team management experience or traits preferably with exposure in the Gulf Region project.
Job Requirements:
- proficiency in designing electrical systems for LV/ MV/ HV/ EHV substations from concept design to construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of T&D functions w.r.t construction in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- proficiency in evaluating/reviewing of electrical equipment sizing, preparation of Equipment Layouts (GIS, switchgear, transformer, capacitor bank etc.), Trays, duct banks & tunnel layouts, Lighting, Shielding & earthing, AC/DC auxiliary system design etc., and inter discipline knowledge for coordination and approval. Experienced in preparation of equipment specifications, feasibility studies, DBRs, and tender documents.
- Familiar with relevant codes & standards – International electro-technical commission (IEC), IEEE, BS (British Standards), Regional Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), SEC standards etc.
- Proficient in design software tools – CDEGS, ETAP, CymGrid, Dialux, drafting tools, 3D platform and document management systems.
- Passionate about electrical systems and the power environment. Be a creative leader in design and project management. Have excellent technical skills and be able to mentor staff in their own development and the development of projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving design challenges.
