Construction & Handover Engineer

Job Purpose:

We are currently looking for Construction and Handover Engineer to be part of our team, based on the National Technical Standardization Project in Riyadh.

The project's core objective is to provide consultancy services in facilitating the delivery of Unified Technical Standards and Specifications for Projects. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of one of the most transformative projects in Saudi Arabia's history.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:

• Collaborate with other stakeholders, industry experts, and internal teams to develop and enforce standardized construction and handover processes.
• Ensure adherence to local building codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution as per standards and procedures.
• Develop a and implement a comprehensive handover plan outlining all necessary activities, milestones, and timelines for transitioning of the assets from construction to operations. Manage the complete handover process
• Coordinate with the Commissioning Team to execute the Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities in a safe way, always keeping the Project Process flow in mind.
• Monitor the Construction progress till issuance of the discipline acceptance certificate (DAC) in a timely manner to meet scheduled handover dates to the Pre-Commissioning team.
• Oversee the final inspection, commissioning, and documentation process for project handover.
• Develop and maintain detailed handover documentation, including as-built drawings, test reports, and compliance records.
• Prepare progress reports, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
• Lead handover management coordination forum, engage will all stakeholders, set and agree term of reference, manage meeting agenda, review progress on actions, take minutes and communicate to all stakeholders.
• Coordinate the entire handover process from construction completion to client occupancy, ensuring timely and efficient handovers.
•  Maintain accurate records of all handover activities, including inspection reports, snag lists, and client feedback. 
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the handover process, addressing any questions or concerns they may have and providing regular updates on the status of their units. 

Qualifications and Experience:

• Twelve (12 plus) years of experience in large capital projects and/or large programs or similar complex projects.
• Experience in construction management, with a focus on project handover.
• Strong commissioning and completion experience on large construction projects within middle east environment.
• University degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
• Experience in KSA/GCC region (highly recommended).
• Good communication skills, both in presentation and documentation.
• Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent reporting, documentation, and coordination skills.
• Good command over English.
