Job Purpose:
We are currently looking for Risk Engineers to be part of our team, based on the National Technical Standardization Project in Riyadh.
The project's core objective is to provide consultancy services in facilitating the delivery of Unified Technical Standards and Specifications for Projects.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks associated with engineering practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments related to national technical standards, identifying potential hazards, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies, industry experts, and internal teams to develop and enforce standardized risk management processes.
- Implement risk control measures, contingency plans, and preventive actions to enhance project resilience.
- Ensure compliance with local and international risk management standards (ISO 31000, ISO 9001, construction and engineering codes).
- Integrate risk management strategies into national technical frameworks in coordination with key stakeholders.
- Utilize risk modeling, statistical analysis, and predictive analytics to anticipate and mitigate potential challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement of risk management frameworks, embedding best practices into standardized procedures.
- Draft policies and procedures for risk registers and compliance with the Risk Management Framework.
- Develop risk registers, reports, and dashboards for senior management and regulatory authorities.
- Implement and oversee Project Risk Management Strategy, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
- Support risk identification, analysis, and data processing using qualitative methods.
- Enhance and standardize risk management methodologies across construction and engineering projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Twelve (12 plus) years of experience in PMO, large capital projects and/or large programs or similar complex projects.
- University degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of a risk management framework in a large organization, preferably Consultancy or PMC.
- Proven experience and familiarity with commercial risk management practices and procedures, preferably in a similar cutting context.
- Prior experience maintaining risk management databases (e.g. Active Risk Management program).
- Experience in KSA/GCC region (highly recommended)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to analyze large and complex data and worksheets.
- Good communication skills, both in presentation and documentation.
- Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Good command over English and proficiency in Arabic is preferable.
Knowledge and Functional Competencies:
- Excellent report writing skills as well as excellent presentations.
- Strong background in project management including time, cost and contracts management.
- Proficient in the analysis and application of the Saudi Arabian Building Codes.
- Working knowledge of International Building Codes and their use within Saudi Arabia.
- High level of understanding in the application of ‘best industry practice’ within Design authoring and construction methodologies.
- Proficient in the codes applicable to the field of expertise/discipline.
- Application of BIM process and deliverables within Design their relationship with Technical Standards and Specifications.
- Mentoring of junior team members.
