  • Translate complex technical requirements into standardized specification language that can be easily interpreted and implemented by practitioners, consultants, contractors, and regulators.
  • Review existing national and international specifications, codes, and technical documents to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and best practices applicable to the Kingdom’s context.
  • Harmonize terminology, formatting, and technical content to ensure consistency and compliance across all standardization outputs.
  • Work collaboratively with technical leads, engineers, designers, regulators, and industry experts to gather requirements, validate content accuracy, and ensure stakeholder input is captured.
  • Facilitate technical workshops, clarification sessions, and content reviews to align on specification intent and practical application.
  • Ensure all specifications adhere to defined quality standards, editorial guidelines, and codification frameworks established by the standardization project.
  • Conduct technical editing, proofreading, and validation checks to eliminate ambiguity, contradictions, or errors.
  • Provide guidance and training materials or sessions for internal teams and external stakeholders on the use and interpretation of standardized specifications.
  • Respond to queries relating to specification intent or interpretation during implementation phases.

Role Impact:

The Specification Writer will:

  • Ensure the clarity, consistency, and applicability of national construction standards.
  • Support the harmonization of codes that enhances construction quality, safety, and interoperability across sectors.
  • Enable stakeholders, from consultants and contractors to regulators, to follow unified standards with confidence and precision.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Technical Communication, or a related technical discipline.
  • CSI (CCS or CDT) or SCW (Specification Consultant) certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of Ten (10) years’ experience in construction documentation, with specific experience in writing master specifications for government or large-scale developers.
  • Demonstrated experience working with technical standards, codes, or specifications (local or international).
  • Experience coordinating with technical SMEs and multi-disciplinary teams is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in structured technical writing and documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, document version control systems).
  • Familiarity with standards development frameworks (ISO, ASTM, BS, ACI, Eurocodes, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of construction terminology and technical concepts.

What We Offer:

  • A chance to work on landmark projects in Saudi Arabia.
  • Collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • An engaged and supportive team that are passionate about encouraging each other to succeed.
  • Work for a company who values their employees and recognizes their contribution.
