Sr. Architect (Cinemas & Theaters)

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect specializing in the design and supervision of Cinemas, theaters, and immersive entertainment venues to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The successful candidate will bring creativity, technical proficiency, and a deep understanding of audiovisual and theatrical design elements to deliver high-quality, innovative entertainment spaces.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:

• Lead the architectural design review of cinema and theater projects and supervise the execution.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including MEP, AV, acoustics, and lighting specialists, to ensure seamless project integration.
• Oversee the construction of sets, ensuring they meet the specifications and visual requirements of the film.
• Familiarity with camera angles, lighting, and other filmmaking techniques to ensure the architecture effectively complements the visual storytelling.
• Develop space planning strategies that account for seating layouts, sightlines, projection systems, sound design, and circulation.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, accessibility standards, and local authority regulations in Saudi Arabia.
• Review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and participate in on-site inspections during construction.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including clients, project managers, operators, and technical consultants.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of Fifteen (15) years cumulative experience with at least 4 years in Cinemas, theaters, and immersive entertainment venues.
• Proven portfolio of completed cinema/theater projects (both renovation and new build).
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a recognized university.
• Proven background in ride/show integration, scenic fabrication, and themed construction methods.
• Deep knowledge of materials, finishes, and production processes used in the themed entertainment industry.
• Good communication skills, both in presentation and documentation.
• Excellent reporting, documentation, and coordination skills.
• Good command over English.
• GCC experience is preferred.
