Sr. Mechanical Inspector

About the Job:

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Senior Mechanical Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and ensuring all mechanical construction activities comply with project specifications, codes, and standards. The role requires strong technical expertise in HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing, and Hydraulics systems, along with sound knowledge of relevant international standards and local authority regulations.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:

• Conduct inspections of all mechanical works, including HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing, and Drainage systems to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Review and verify material submittals, method statements, and inspection requests (IRs) for compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor contractor’s work to ensure quality and adherence to project schedules and safety procedures.
• Ensure installations conform to codes and standards such as ASHRAE, IBC, SBC, NFPA, ASME, and other applicable guidelines.
• Verify testing and commissioning procedures for mechanical systems and participate in witness testing activities.
• Identify non-conformities, issue inspection reports, and follow up on corrective actions until closure.
• Coordinate with design, QA/QC, and construction teams to resolve technical issues and ensure consistent quality across all mechanical works.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Support project teams during handover and ensure mechanical systems meet all performance and safety requirements.
• Mentor and support junior inspectors and team members on best inspection practices and technical standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in inspection roles for projects of similar size and complexity (preferably within consultancy or supervision environments).
• Proven technical knowledge and hands-on experience in HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing, and Hydraulics systems.
• Strong familiarity with international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, ASME, SBC, IBC, etc.).
• Experience in construction management and quality assurance/quality control within large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Language Proficiency Requirements:

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.

Knowledge and Functional Competencies:

• In-depth understanding of mechanical system design, installation, and commissioning requirements.
• Ability to interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Strong focus on quality, attention to detail, and commitment to project excellence.

• Excellent teamwork, coordination, and communication skills.
