Job Purpose
The Senior Structural Design Engineer will lead and deliver complex structural design solutions for super high-rise tower projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with international standards, and alignment with DAR Engineering’s design philosophy. The role requires deep expertise in tall-building behavior, advanced lateral systems, and performance-driven structural design.
Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:
- Lead the structural design of super high-rise towers (150m+ to 300m+), including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
- Develop and review structural analysis models, calculations, and design reports using industry-standard software.
- Design and optimize lateral load-resisting systems such as shear walls, outrigger systems, belt trusses, mega-columns, and core-wall systems.
- Perform wind and seismic analysis, including coordination with wind tunnel consultants where applicable.
- Support performance-based design (PBD) approaches for tall structures.
- Review and validate design deliverables prepared by engineers and designers to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Participate in design reviews, value engineering workshops, and technical audits.
- Coordinate closely with architectural, MEP, façade, geotechnical, and BIM teams.
- Interface with clients, peer reviewers, and authorities to address technical comments and approvals.
- Support construction teams with design clarifications, RFIs, and site-related technical issues.
- Ensure designs comply with ACI, AISC, ASCE, Eurocodes, BS, SBC, and other applicable international and local standards.
- Maintain high standards of QA/QC, documentation control, and design governance in line with DAR Engineering procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of Twelve (12) years of structural design experience, with at least 4–6 years dedicated to super high-rise towers.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
- Proven experience working with international design consultancies on landmark projects.
- Strong proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD, and related analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of tall-building dynamics, construction sequencing, and structural optimization.

- Familiarity with BIM-driven design environments
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional certification (preferred).
