Theming Engineer (Theme Park)

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated “Sr. Theming Engineer” to be working on Show/Ride Technical coordination, Theming Technical Coordination and Cinema Architecture for a world-class Theme Park development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

As a Theming Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the technical aspects of theming, show, and ride integration for a large-scale theme park development. You will work closely with international consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure thematic elements are designed, fabricated, and installed to the highest standards aligned with the creative vision and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:

• Oversee technical coordination of show/ride integration and theming packages across entire project phases.
• Collaborate with cinema architecture teams, scenic vendors, ride manufacturers, and specialty fabricators.
• Interpret creative intent and ensure practical, code-compliant, and cost-effective execution of designs.
• Review and approve design documents, mock-ups, material submittals, and fabrication techniques.
• Work with design consultants to develop shop drawings and ensure technical alignment with project standards.
• Conduct regular site visits, monitor progress, and resolve technical challenges related to theming.
• Coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP) to ensure seamless integration.
• Ensure industry standards, safety regulations, and quality benchmarks are consistently met.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 15+ years cumulative experience with at least 5 years in Show/Ride Technical coordination / Theming Technical Coordination in the theme park industry.
• Experience in cinema architecture is desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering.
• Proven background in ride/show integration, scenic fabrication, and themed construction methods.
• Deep knowledge of materials, finishes, and production processes used in the themed entertainment industry.
• Good communication skills, both in presentation and documentation.
• Excellent reporting, documentation, and coordination skills.
• Good command over English.
• GCC experience is preferred.
