Job Purpose
Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom applications within the ServiceNow App Engine. Involves collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable, efficient, and optimized solutions aligned with business needs and best practices. Utilize ServiceNow’s low-code/no-code capabilities while ensuring compliance with governance and security policies.
Key Accountability Areas
Application Design & Development:
- Design and develop scalable, maintainable applications using ServiceNow’s App Engine.
- Implement efficient solutions to meet business requirements while ensuring long-term viability.
Customization & Configuration:
- Customize workflows, business rules, UI policies, and client scripts to address specific business needs.
- Ensure optimal system performance and functionality through tailored configurations.
Integration Management:
- Implement seamless integrations between ServiceNow and external systems via REST and SOAP APIs.
- Ensure data integrity and synchronization between platforms for smooth workflows.
Low-Code/No-Code Development:
- Leverage low-code/no-code approaches for rapid development and application delivery.
- Facilitate faster deployment while maintaining quality and scalability.
Requirement Gathering & Functional Design:
- Actively participate in requirement gathering sessions with business stakeholders.
- Collaborate in functional design, solutioning, and implementation planning.
Collaboration & Governance
- Work closely with the ServiceNow Center of Excellence (CoE) team to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
- Adhere to governance policies, ensuring consistency and compliance across projects.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure the platform’s security and compliance with internal organizational policies.
- Implement and monitor security protocols to safeguard sensitive data.
Testing & Defect Resolution:
- Perform unit testing to ensure the stability and functionality of developed applications.
- Assist in system testing phases and resolve any defects or issues promptly.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, developments, and integrations.
- Ensure accurate records for future reference and auditing purposes.
End-User & Business Team Support:
- Provide technical guidance and support to end-users, ensuring effective platform usage.
- Assist business teams with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Access Control & Policy Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with platform security, access control, and governance policies.
- Implement role-based access controls and enforce best practices in data security.
