Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Engineer to join our Medium Voltage Switchgear and RMU development team. The candidate must demonstrate proven expertise in the design, validation, and successful type testing of Load Break Switches (LBS) as per IEC 62271-103 and Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCB) in RMUs as per IEC 62271-100. This role requires deep technical knowledge of MV components, product industrialization, and strong experience in standards compliance, test clearance, and sustainable designs

Key Accountability Areas

  • Lead the design, simulation, and development of 36kV MV switchgear and RMU components, focusing on:
  • - Load Break Switches (LBS) designed and validated as per IEC 62271-103, with successful clearance of all test duties (mechanical endurance, short-circuit making & breaking, rated load breaking, cable/transformer charging, and earth fault duties).
  • - Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCBs) implemented in RMUs as per IEC 62271-100, with proven successful execution of all test duties (short-circuit breaking, making, capacitive current switching, out-of-phase switching, and endurance tests).
  • Carry out 3D design, prototyping, and design validation using CAD and simulation tools (mechanical, dielectric, thermal, and short-circuit performance).
  • Ensure type test compliance with IEC standards (62271-100, 62271-103, 62271-200, 62271-105, etc.) through close coordination with internal test facilities and external laboratories (e.g., KEMA, CESI, GCC Labs).
  • Lead root cause analyses (RCA) of test failures and apply corrective actions to achieve successful type test clearance.
  • Prepare complete technical documentation: design files, FMEA/DFMEA, test reports, product manuals, and patentable innovation records.
  • Benchmark competitor products and integrate latest technologies into product roadmap.

Provide technical mentoring and guidance to cross-functional engineering teams (D&D, reliability, testing, product content, etc.).

  • Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

  • Resolve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

  • Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automations opportunities as much as possible.

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
