Job Purpose
The BIM Architect / BIM Architectural Engineer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining Building Information Models (BIM) for architectural projects. The role ensures design accuracy, multidisciplinary coordination, and proper application of BIM standards (ISO 19650, company BIM Execution Plans). The BIM Architect supports the design team through advanced modeling, clash detection, documentation, and construction‑ready deliverables.
Key Accountability Areas
1. BIM Modeling & Documentation
- Develop detailed architectural BIM models (LOD 200–400+) using Revit or other BIM tools.
- Produce architectural drawings, schedules, and documentation directly from the BIM model.
2. Design & Coordination
- Coordinate architectural models with structural, MEP, landscape, and other disciplines.
- Resolve coordination issues in clash detection produced by BIM coordinators.
- Ensure models comply with project BIM Execution Plan (BEP), standards, and protocols.
3. BIM Standards & Quality Control
- Maintain adherence to company BIM standards, naming conventions, and information workflows.
- Perform regular model audits, checks, and model health reviews.
- Ensure data accuracy, geometry consistency, file cleanliness, and version management.
4. Project Support
- Provide quantity take-offs, material schedules, and construction-ready data as required.
- Support RFIs, shop drawings, and as‑built documentation.
Role Accountability
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Revit Architecture.
- Experience with Navisworks Manage (clash detection & coordination).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Enscape, 3ds Max, or similar visualization tools.
- Understanding of ISO 19650, BEP development, and LOD standards.
- Ability to generate construction drawings and detailed architectural documentation.
