Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Civil Project Engineer to join our team in the Egypt Office. The role involves supporting project design reviews, coordinating civil activities, assisting in project planning, and ensuring proper documentation and engineering compliance for projects executed within Alfanar Projects.

The Civil Project Engineer will work closely with project management, engineering teams, and site teams to ensure seamless coordination between office and on-site activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings, IFC documents, BOQs, and technical specifications, and provide technical clarifications to project and site teams.

  • Support the planning and monitoring of civil works progress across assigned projects.

  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and site teams to ensure timely engineering deliverables and project requirements.

  • Assist in resolving technical issues by communicating with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.

  • Prepare technical reports, progress summaries, and engineering documentation required by management.

  • Support quality control by reviewing method statements, material submittals, and test reports.

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and QA/QC procedures.

  • Provide technical support to procurement by verifying quantity requirements, specifications, and material approvals.

  • Assist in preparing site instructions, variation requests, and documentation for project controls.

  • Coordinate with HSE, Planning, and QA/QC teams to ensure engineering inputs align with project standards.

  • Maintain and update project documentation, registers, and engineering logs.

  • Participate in internal and client meetings, providing technical insights and progress updates.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering — mandatory.

  • Minimum of 4–7 years of experience in civil engineering roles within EPC, construction, or infrastructure projects.

  • Experience with substation, power plant, or utility infrastructure projects is an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and technical standards.

  • Proficient in reviewing design drawings, BOQs, and project specifications.

  • Skilled in documentation, reporting, and engineering coordination.

  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Primavera is an advantage.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
