Responsibilities
- Design and development of LV/ MV/ HV/ EHV Substation from base design, detail design to IFC stages.
- Adhere to established design guidelines and procedures.
- Analyze design issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform design analysis and calculations according to project requirements.
- Determine construction cost and material estimates based on the designs.
- Review project plan and determine the design feasibilities and constraints.
- Use latest software and technologies to develop effective designs.
- Maintain accurate design files for reference purposes.
- Consider health, safety and environmental requirements when developing the designs.
- Manage design projects within allotted timelines and MHs.
- Stay abreast with the latest developments with relevant design fields.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 4-6 years of experience in Electrical Design and Analysis of T&D projects and preferably with exposure in the Gulf Region.
- Proficiency in designing electrical systems for LV/ MV/ HV/ EHV substations from base design, detail design to IFC stages. Working knowledge on T&D functions w.r.t construction contractors in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
- Working knowledge on preparation of Equipment Layouts (GIS, switchgear, transformer, capacitor bank etc.), Trays, duct banks & tunnel layouts, Lighting, Shielding & earthing, AC/DC auxiliary system design etc.
- Familiar with relevant codes & standards – International electro-technical commission (IEC), IEEE, BS (British Standards), Saudi Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), SEC standards etc.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of design software – CDEGS, Dialux, Building Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD etc. Fair understanding of 3D tools, 3D modelling and DMS.
- Be passionate about electrical systems and the power environment. Be a creative leader in design and project management. Have excellent technical skills and be able to mentor staff in their own development and the development of projects.
- Good communication skills, both in presentation and documentation with a command over English.
