Job Purpose
Lead, manage, and develop the Structural Design Section by ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, and cost-effective structural solutions in compliance with international standards, project requirements, and objectives. Focus on guiding the design team, reviewing and approving technical outputs, and supporting cross-disciplinary collaboration to achieve project excellence.
Key Accountability Areas
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and supervise the structural design team to ensure effective task allocation, productivity, and quality outcomes.
- Mentor, coach, and support team members to enhance technical capabilities and professional growth.
- Manage team workload, set priorities, and monitor performance to meet project deadlines and objectives.
Structural Design Oversight & Validation
- Review, approve, and validate all structural calculations, drawings, and technical deliverables.
- Ensure accuracy, technical soundness, and constructability of designs.
- Conduct quality checks and risk assessments to mitigate potential design issues.
- Provide solutions to complex structural challenges and ensure alignment with project requirements.
Standards, Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all structural designs comply with relevant international codes (e.g., ACI, BS, Eurocodes), local regulations, and client specifications.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, new materials, and technological advancements.
Cross-Disciplinary & Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with civil, architectural, MEP, and other engineering teams to achieve fully integrated project solutions.
- Represent the structural design team in project meetings and present technical justifications when required.
Strategic Planning & Best Practices
- Develop, implement, and monitor design strategies, policies, and standards for the Structural Design Section.
- Recommend innovative design solutions and methodologies to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Project Participation & Decision-Making Support
- Participate in tender evaluations, design reviews, and project progress meetings.
- Provide expert technical guidance and input to support decision-making at project and organizational levels.
- Ensure timely delivery of design outputs to support overall project schedules.

- Develop the organizational structure according to the current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans.
- Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deployment.
