Job Purpose

Leading the development and evaluation of advanced structural systems for buildings and infrastructure to ensure safety, stability, and efficiency. Directing the design of complex structural elements, validating material performance and load conditions, and enforcing rigorous compliance with building codes and regulations. Coordinating with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams to drive the integration of innovative structural solutions into comprehensive project plans.

Functional Responsibilities

Lead the structural design and design review process, ensuring that all engineering deliverables comply with international codes, industry standards, and client requirements. Provide technical leadership, mentor engineering staff, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex structural engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Structural Design Review & Compliance

•    Lead the technical review of structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
•    Verify compliance with applicable building codes, design standards, client specifications, and company engineering procedures.
•    Propose and apply structural design solutions and provide technical recommendations to optimize safety, constructability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Quality Assurance & Risk Management
•    Lead QA/QC activities throughout the design process to ensure engineering quality and consistency.
•    Identify technical risks, design inconsistencies, and constructability issues, and recommend effective mitigation measures.
•    Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards, design procedures, and quality management systems.

Design Coordination & Stakeholder Collaboration
•    Collaborate with architectural, MEP, geotechnical, project management, and other disciplines to resolve design interface issues and deliver integrated engineering solutions.
•    Support effective communication and coordination among project stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Technical Leadership & Team Development
•    Mentor and support junior engineers by providing technical guidance, promoting best practices, and supporting professional development.
•    Foster technical excellence and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.

Documentation & Reporting
•    Prepare technical reports, engineering assessments, and recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.
•    Maintain accurate records of design reviews, comments, approvals, and revisions to ensure traceability, compliance, and effective project documentation.

• Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in structural engineering, including significant involvement in the design and technical review of complex building or infrastructure projects.
• Advanced proficiency in structural analysis and design software, including SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, Concise Beam, and STAAD.Pro.
• Experience in designing precast reinforced concrete elements is a previllage.
• Thorough knowledge of the American codes and standards (ASCS, ACI, PCI, and AISC) codes and the Saudi Building Code (SBC), with a strong understanding of their application in structural design and engineering best practices.
• Strong technical expertise in the analysis and design of reinforced concrete, structural steel, and composite structural systems.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience guiding multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage.
• Strong technical report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Experience working with Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows and digital engineering platforms.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies, constructability reviews, and design-for-construction principles.
