Telecommunication Design Engineer

DAR Engineering, a leading design & engineering consulting organization in Saudi Arabia engaged in Power Generation, Electrical Transmission & Distribution, Health Care & High Rise Buildings

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop telecommunication and low current systems for various projects, such as, Electronic Safety and Security Systems "ESS" such as Access Control "ACS", Key management "KMS", Parking Management "PMS", Barrier gates, Surveillance, CCTV, Intelligent Traffic "ITS", Intrusion, Fire Detection and Alarm "FADS", Digital Alarm Communicator "DACS" and Gas Detection "GDS".
  • Design Information and Communication Technology Systems "ICT" and Spaces such as Structure Cabling, Data Networks "LAN, WLAN&WAN", Analog Telephony, Voice over IP "VOIP", outdoor Infrastructure, Telecom Room "TR" and Data Center.
  • Design Audio Visual Systems "AV" such as Overhead Paging or Public Address and General Alarm (PAGA), Background Music (BGM), Master Antenna TV "MATV", Satellite Master Antenna TV "SMATV", IPTV, Digital Signage and Video Wall.
  • Design Extra Low Voltage systems "ELV" such as Nurse Call, Master Clock, and Queuing Management "QMS".
  • Design Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) including Lighting Control, Energy (Power) Management "EMS/PMS" and other Digital Buildings Control Systems.
  • Preparation of Schematic Diagram "Riser", Cause and effect matrix, Input and Output List "I/O List", calculations, and Overall Site Plans.
  • Rack configuration including sizing and selection of racks, switches, and UPS.
  • 2D & 3D low current systems design/modeling via Revit.
  • Detecting/solving construction clashes with Architectural, Structural, Interior Design, and MEP disciplines such as HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical departments.
  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports to the Section Head and the client if needed.
  • Handling the drafter's responsibilities and giving all the required tasks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Communication Engineering.
  • 5 to 8 years of work experience in designing Low Current/ELV/ICT systems.
  • Consultant Background is a must.
  • Software tool (Revit) is a must.
  • Familiar with international standards and codes such as (NFPA, TIA, BICSI, ISO/IEC, NEC, BS, IEEE, IEC… etc.).
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously.
  • Good communication, reading, and understanding skills.
