ACCOUNTANT, GENERAL

Job Purpose
To maintain accurate financial records, process accounting transactions, perform reconciliations, and support financial reporting, payroll, compliance, and budgeting activities to ensure effective financial operations and regulatory compliance.
Key Accountability Areas
Accounting Operations:
- Record and post day-to-day financial transactions based on approved supporting documentation.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
- Maintain fixed asset records and support related accounting entries including capitalization and depreciation.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities as required.
Reconciliations & Reporting:
- Perform periodic reconciliation of bank, receivable, payable, and balance sheet accounts.
- Identify and report discrepancies for review and escalation.
- Prepare routine financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Support monthly reporting and data validation activities.
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Payroll:
- Timely reporting of vendor invoices to the concerned team for payment processing and execution.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Maintain updated records of invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Support payroll processing activities, including data preparation, validation, and payroll-related calculations such as salary inputs, deductions, and statutory components.
Compliance, Tax & Audit Support:
- Maintain financial records in line with applicable accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure statutory deductions are correctly recorded and documented for compliance processing.
- Support documentation requirements for internal and external audits.
- Develop an understanding of regulatory requirements related to cross-border transactions in an export-oriented business environment.
Budget & Expense Monitoring:
- Track actual expenses against approved budgets.
- Support preparation of variance analysis and related reports.
- Compile financial inputs for planning and reporting purposes.

- Ability to obtain updated soft and technical skills related to the job.
Delivery:
- Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
- Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
- Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

- Solve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.
Quality:
- Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.
Business Process Improvements:
- Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.
Compliance:
- Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.
Health, Safety, and Environment:
- Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.
Academic Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Finance or Any relevant field
