Lead Landscape Architect

KEY SKILLS:

•    Ability to think creatively and develop design concepts with the lead landscape architect that respond to site unique conditions and the client's objectives.
•    Deliver results through design quality, processes, operational and commercial outcomes.
•    Coordinate and implement tasks and project management, across a wide range of landscape design and master planning projects.
•    Provide support in the preparation and presenting of design proposals to clients and approving agencies including specific technical expertise in landscape architecture and urban public realm design.
•    Work collaboratively with other business units and design specialists within Dar Engineering and ARC to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
•    Liaise with colleagues, stakeholders and external project team members and clients to provide technical landscape input.
•    Produce illustration and technical design information to support a range of projects.
•    Undertake site visits as required.
•    Actively participate in client-facing presentations.
•    Assist on marketing activities, including obtaining new projects, where possible introducing previous consultancy/ client/ developer contacts and relationships
•    Keep current on industry trends and evaluate if implementation would benefit the company.
•    Assist in the preparation of and management of fee proposals, bids and tenders for new work.
•    Work with and mentor junior landscape architects to deliver high quality projects with a hands-on team player approach under the guidance of the Head of landscape.
•    Review and check design submissions prior to issuance
•    Assist with the technical supervision, training and skill development of junior and mid-level landscape architects.
•    Maintain and improve employee morale by meeting regularly with staff members and establishing an open line of communication.

Education and Experience:

•    A minimum of 10+ years' experience in landscape architecture is required with at least the last three years spent within a senior capacity.
•    Strong Client-facing skills
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Excellent organizational skills.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills
•    Middle East / Overseas exposure would be an advantage.
