Job Purpose

Manage overall operational activities to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective execution of production, maintenance, quality, supply chain coordination, and resource utilization in line with business objectives, customer requirements, and company standards.

Key Accountability Areas

Operations Management

  • Manage day-to-day operational activities to ensure smooth workflow across production, maintenance, quality, and related support functions.
  • Ensure operational plans are executed in line with approved schedules, targets, and business priorities.
  • Monitor operational performance and address issues affecting productivity, delivery, quality, cost, or safety.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure alignment between operations and business requirements.

Production & Delivery Performance

  • Follow up on production progress to ensure output targets and delivery timelines are achieved.
  • Ensure effective utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and operational capacity.
  • Support the resolution of operational bottlenecks, delays, and resource constraints.
  • Monitor performance indicators related to productivity, efficiency, downtime, quality, safety, and cost.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure operations comply with quality standards, safety requirements, company procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure proper implementation of health and safety practices.
  • Follow up on quality issues, non-conformities, and corrective actions with concerned teams.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping, workplace discipline, and 5S practices across operational areas.

Resource & Cost Management

  • Manage operational resources to achieve optimal utilization and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor operational costs and support initiatives to reduce waste, rework, downtime, and unnecessary expenses.
  • Support budget planning and ensure operational activities are managed within approved targets.
  • Recommend actions to improve resource planning, manpower allocation, and operational efficiency.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, workflow, productivity, and service levels.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to improve operational reliability.
  • Support the implementation of new systems, tools, and best practices across operations.

Team Management & Reporting

  • Manage and guide operations teams to ensure effective performance and accountability.
  • Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and support team development.
  • Prepare operational reports, performance updates, and improvement recommendations for management.
  • Communicate operational priorities, challenges, and progress to relevant stakeholders.

Role Accountability

HR Proficiency:

  • Ability to recruit, recognize and cultivate high performers and expose them in order to create a robust second line of management.
  • Ability to recognize low performers and guide them to improve or release them.
  • Ability to treat subordinates equally without any discrimination.
  • Assessment criteria of subordinates is performance that leads to planned results.
  • Ensure availability of delegation of authority matrix to have sufficient delegations as per company policy.

Responsibility:

  • Must take full responsibility for his operation as per the job description and the required deliverables from this position, taking into consideration the general company guidelines.
  • Able to anticipate problems and make the necessary proactive steps to prevent them
  • Ability to take necessary and proper timely decisions.

Business Planning and Performance:

  • Able to transform the corporate goals into business plans.
  • Able to Plan, follow-up and execute those plans, whether they are annual or development plans.
  • Monitor the plan performance and initiate action to strengthen results and take the corrective action accordingly.
  • Provide periodic work progress reports.
  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses to achieve the optimum cost efficiency.

Organizational Development:

  • Develop the organizational structure according to the current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans.
  • Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deployment.

Business Process Improvements:

  • Develop, coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.
  • Should be conversant and able to navigate through IT solutions especially those relevant to his job and business.
  • Promote the automated systems and using them fully, to spread its culture.

Quality:

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Any relevant field
