ARCHITECT, SECURITY

Job Purpose

This position exists to develop and implement computer network systems, efficiently, in timely manner and quality standards as per the defined policies and procedures to achieve departmental operational plans and developments.

Key Accountability Areas

Business Improvement:

• Upgrade security systems by monitoring security environment; identifying security gaps; evaluating and implementing enhancements.
• Develop a complete understanding of alfanar’s technology and information systems and design & implement IT, cloud & OT security solutions and policies and procedures in accordance with all applicable regulatory standards such as NIST, SOC2, ISA/IEC 62443, GDPR, IS027001, etc.
• Work collaboratively with other teams to assess & architect newly proposed cloud technologies / projects / changes for their suitability from a security perspective & ensure those are security by design & privacy by design enabled.

Business Operations:

• Responsible for designing and overseeing the configuration of secure enterprise network systems.
• Evaluate, design, architect, test, deploy, configure, administrate, and maintain the alfanar systems security and configurations.
• Design and define highly complex, critical, and diverse architectures for security devices, electronic data traffic, network access, cryptography, and access control.
• Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats & respond immediately to security-related incidents and provide thorough remedial solutions and analysis.
• Design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge & plan, research, and design robust security architectures for any IT project.
• Perform or supervise vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments including OT solutions and infrastructure for new & legacy machines & equipment, HCM, ERP, SCADA & PLC/sensor technologies.

Best Practice:

• Establish best practices and industry standard controls and baseline configurations for a variety of services, systems, devices, endpoints, data, and 3rd party solutions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IT Security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
• Analyze and implement new security protocols and technologies.
• Review and approve installation of firewall, VPN, routers, IDS scanning technologies for Cloud, & OT environments
• Manage security solutions & balance CAPex & OPex investments with effective ROI.
• Align organizational security strategy and infrastructure with overall business and technology strategy.
• Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.

Security Management:

• Manage security responsibilities, including firewalls, proxy systems, logging, and other security devices.

Policies and Procedures:

• Apply network security policies and provide network security expertise to the company.
• Maintain security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; developing and conducting training programs.
