Job Purpose

The Assistant Designer will assist in creating and developing artwork for new collections, focusing on design elements, color combinations, and production alignment. The role includes modifying artwork based on feedback, managing tasks to meet production goals, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will also support trend research and ensure designs are completed on time and meet quality standards for approval and production.

Key Accountability Areas

Artwork Creation and Support:

  • Assist senior designers in creating and preparing artwork for new collections, ensuring the designs meet the project vision and objectives.

Own Collection Development:

  • Take ownership of designing your own collection, focusing on developing color combinations and design elements that reflect the brand's identity and market trends.

Digital Design and Production Alignment:

  • Learn and develop digital designs, ensuring that color profiles, textures, and patterns are optimized for production and manufacturing requirements.

Artwork Modification and Customization:

  • Modify artwork as per the requests from the PDR team, laboratory, and customer needs, under the supervision and guidance of the design manager.

Task Management and Goal Achievement:

  • Work according to tasks and targets set by the Design Manager to meet production goals, commercial requirements, and project deadlines.

Reporting and Performance Tracking:

  • Submit weekly progress reports to the direct manager, providing updates on completed tasks, challenges, and overall progress toward meeting design objectives.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with production, development, and other cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet technical specifications and can be effectively produced.

Trend Research and Innovation:

  • Assist in researching and analyzing current design trends, customer preferences, and market demands to create innovative and relevant collections.

Quality Assurance and Timely Delivery:

  • Ensure all designs are completed within the required timeframes and meet the specified quality standards before submitting for final approval and production.
