Job Purpose

Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of innovative products. Contribute to the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and prototyping to testing and final implementation. Create solutions that meet market demands, while ensuring adherence to design specifications and industry standards.

Key Accountability Areas

Technical Benchmarking and Concept Development

  • Conduct benchmarking of competitor products to identify key features, specifications, and performance differences.
  • Develop concepts for new components or modifications to existing products based on market and technical needs.

Design Execution and Feasibility

  • Prepare proposals, mock-up samples, and Design Input versus Output documentation.
  • Check manufacturing feasibility, considering mold design, tooling, and die layouts.
  • Create three-dimensional models, two-dimensional drawings, and Bills of Materials using the SAP Engineering Control Center, ensuring compliance with standards and tolerance requirements.

Prototype Verification and Project Planning

  • Review Prototype Verification Reports and prepare development plans.
  • Perform design verification, validation, and pilot trials, recording results and suggesting improvements.

Cross-Functional Coordination and Manufacturing Support

  • Carry out Design for Manufacturability and Mold Flow Analysis reviews.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for tooling, machine procurement, and documentation preparation.
  • Release approved designs and specifications for in-house and outsourced manufacturing.

Product Life Cycle Activities and Documentation

  • Apply product changes and updates in line with life cycle requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with New Product Development stage gate requirements.

  • Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.

  • Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
