ENGINEER, DESIGN ARCHITECTURAL

Job Purpose

Creating detailed architectural designs and schematics for various projects. Analyzing project requirements, developing and refining architectural systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders to deliver efficient and aesthetically pleasing designs. Provide innovative solutions that meet design specifications and project objectives while optimizing performance and cost.

Key Accountability Areas

Design and Development:

• Create detailed architectural designs, schematics, and layouts for projects, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards. Conduct spatial analysis, design simulations, and performance evaluations to ensure designs are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and compliant with relevant codes and regulations.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Ensure that all designs comply with national and local building codes, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to integrate architectural systems with other building systems and project requirements. Communicate with clients to understand their needs, provide technical advice, and present design concepts and solutions.

Project Management:

• Review and approve design modifications and changes, ensuring they align with project goals and specifications.

Problem-Solving and Innovation:

• Identify and resolve design issues, perform design testing, and provide solutions to technical problems that occur during the implementation phase. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and solutions.

Role Accountability

• Solid hands-on experience in architectural design development from concept stage to detailed design
• Strong experience in preparing architectural working / construction drawings, detailing, and shop drawing packages
• Proven experience in multidisciplinary coordination and clash resolution with structural, MEP, and related disciplines
• Experience in architectural visualization / presentation production
• Good understanding of architectural materials and finishing systems
• Good knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, and authority requirements
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit Architecture is mandatory
