ENGINEER, ELECTRICAL

Job Purpose

Overseeing, managing, and ensuring the proper execution of electrical systems installations, maintenance, and operations on-site. Installing, and testing of electrical wiring, power distribution systems, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, and other electrical infrastructure.

Key Accountability Areas

Design and Planning:

• Review and understand electrical system designs and ensure they are suitable for the project.
• Ensure that the electrical components and systems (wiring, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, etc.) comply with local regulations, standards, and codes.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and structural teams to ensure all electrical systems are integrated smoothly into the overall villa design.

Site Supervision and Installation:

• Oversee the installation of electrical systems (wiring, lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, etc.) in line with approved plans.
• Ensure that installation work is carried out as per the specifications, on time, and within budget.
• Supervise electrical subcontractors and contractors on-site, ensuring quality workmanship.
• Conduct inspections of installed electrical systems to ensure they meet required standards.
• Address any on-site issues or delays related to electrical work.

Coordination and Communication:

• Liaise with other departments, including project managers, mechanical engineers, and civil engineers, to coordinate electrical work with the overall project schedule and activities.
• Communicate progress, issues, and recommendations to the project manager and other stakeholders.
• Participate in meetings and provide technical support regarding electrical systems.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:

• Identify and resolve any electrical system issues that arise during installation or post-installation.
• Provide solutions for any challenges encountered during construction related to electrical systems.

Testing and Commissioning:

• Oversee the testing, balancing, and commissioning of electrical systems (wiring, power distribution, lighting, etc.).
• Ensure all systems are functional and operating as per design specifications.
• Conduct performance checks and make adjustments as needed.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare and maintain accurate records of electrical systems installations, inspections, and tests.
• Provide daily/weekly progress reports on electrical work for management and stakeholders.
• Ensure that all electrical system documentation, such as operation manuals, warranties, and as-built drawings, is completed.

Maintenance and Handover:

• Ensure that electrical systems are handed over in good working condition.
• Oversee the post-handover maintenance of systems, ensuring the villas' electrical systems are maintained properly after occupancy.

• Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.
