Job Purpose

The Logistics Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all logistical operations at construction sites. This includes ensuring the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and labor to maintain project schedules, improve site efficiency, and support overall project success. The role focuses on optimizing material flow, maintaining safety standards, minimizing costs, and ensuring smooth site operations.

Key Accountability Areas

  • Develop and implement logistics plans to support project timelines and milestones.

  • Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials, tools, and equipment at construction sites.

  • Monitor and manage the flow of materials and workforce to prevent delays and inefficiencies.

  • Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and site supervisors to ensure logistics align with project requirements.

  • Identify and resolve potential logistics and supply chain issues proactively.

  • Oversee site logistics infrastructure such as access roads, laydown areas, and storage zones.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to logistics activities.

  • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, deliveries, and inventory.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for logistics processes.

  • Provide logistical support specifically related to earthworks operations, including material hauling, equipment mobilization, and access planning.

Role Accountability

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Logistics, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction logistics, preferably in large-scale projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment.

  • Proven experience managing logistics for earthworks and heavy construction activities.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in logistics planning software and construction project tools is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and practices.

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
