Job Purpose

The Project Engineer - Transmission Line is responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, and overseeing the complete lifecycle of high-voltage transmission line projects, including both Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL) and Underground Cable (UGC) systems. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) standards, project specifications, and industry best practices.

The position acts as the technical and project management focal point between clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective execution of engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities for transmission projects ranging from 220kV to 500kV, with particular emphasis on 380kV systems.

The Project Engineer is expected to provide technical leadership throughout all project phases, including route selection, design review, construction supervision, risk management, quality assurance, safety compliance, stakeholder coordination, and project closeout. The role requires strong expertise in transmission line engineering, construction methodologies, contract administration, resource planning, and problem-solving to ensure successful project delivery while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence, reliability, and safety.

Key Accountability Areas

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineer to oversee our high-voltage transmission line projects (OHTL), both overhead and underground. In this pivotal role, you will manage the complete lifecycle of these projects, ensuring their successful delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in construction, engineering, and project management will be essential as you lead our team, navigate challenges, and achieve project goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage high-voltage transmission line projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
  • Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Apply extensive knowledge in both overhead and underground power line systems.
  • Utilize expertise with 380kV systems to enhance project outcomes.
  • Uphold safety and quality standards across all project phases.

Role Accountability

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 7 years of experience managing overhead and underground power line projects.
  3. Strong understanding of high-voltage electrical power systems, transmission line theory, and electrical equipment.
  4. Familiarity with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) Standards.
  5. Experience with 220-500kV transmission systems is highly desirable.
  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and solve complex engineering problems.
  8. Detail-oriented and organized with a strong focus on quality and safety.

Note: Valid SCE (Saudi Council of Engineers) membership/ Iqama Profession to be Electrical Engineer

Academic Qualification
