Job Purpose

To ensure that sourced components and assemblies for MV switchgear products meet required quality standards by managing supplier quality activities, PPAP documentation, compliance verification, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce NCRs and PPM levels.

Functional Responsibilities

Supplier Quality Planning & PPAP

  • Develop and maintain PPAP documentation for critical components and assemblies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to manage PPAP submissions and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Apply APQP and PPAP processes for electrical components and assemblies.
  • Review and validate Control Plans, Material Verification, and Process Capability studies for supplier processes.

Technical Compliance & Product Quality

  • Verify compliance of parts and processes with customer requirements and IEC standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Manage new product developments within the MV business line from a quality perspective.
  • Follow up on DFMEA and PFMEA action plans and ensure timely closure of identified risks.

Supplier Performance & Corrective Actions

  • Monitor and reduce NCRs and PPM levels through structured problem-solving and preventive measures.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with suppliers to review NCR closures and effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper implementation of 8D methodology for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Track and monitor corrective and preventive actions for supplier-related issues.

Supplier Audits & Improvement

  • Perform supplier audits and assessments for approval and ongoing compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and supplier performance.
  • Apply 7 QC tools for data analysis and quality improvement activities.
  • Travel locally and internationally for supplier visits, audits, and quality improvement projects.

Documentation, Reporting & Audit Readiness

  • Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations using MS Excel and PowerPoint for management reviews.
  • Ensure readiness for customer and third-party audits by maintaining proper documentation and compliance.
  • Maintain supplier quality records, audit findings, corrective actions, and performance updates.

  • Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.

Health, Safety, and Environment:

  • Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Qualification

Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
