Job Purpose
Overseeing all the operational activities within a stockyard. Planning, coordination, cost control, and ensuring a safe work environment with leadership skills, management knowledge, and attention to detail will contribute to the smooth functioning of the stockyard.
Key Accountability Areas
Coordination of Activities:
- Organize and oversee activities associated with the loading, unloading, and storage of materials.
Safety Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels and oversee inventory movement.
- Collaborate with inventory control personnel to maintain precise records.
- Ensure accuracy in documenting stock movements and transactions.
Optimization Strategies:
- Devise and implement strategies to optimize stockyard space and organization.
Reporting:
- Generate daily reports detailing stockyard activities, encompassing inventory levels, shipments, and incidents.
Role Accountability
HR Proficiency:
- Training subordinates and forming a team to get the work effectively.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
- Delegate sub-ordinates in each respective assignment.
- Ensures fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale and motivation of subordinates.
Delivery:
- Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
- Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
- Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.
Problem-Solving:
- Resolve any related problems that arise and escalate any complex operational issues.
Quality:
- Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.
Business Process Improvements:
- Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automations opportunities as much as possible.
Compliance:
- Comply with related policy and procedures and work instructions.
Safety:
- Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.
