Head of IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture

Job Purpose

This position exists to manage IT Enterprise Architecture. Plan, develop ,execute and monitor its activities and related systems by optimum resources at efficient cost. Deliver as per company quality standards. Manage the risks and opportunities to bring the sub sections to a further step.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Closely working with application and development unit, evaluate and design solutions across all IT functions and working at the point of need.
  • Develop business cases and initiative prioritization in conjunction with the business and other technology teams
  • In charge of enterprise, solution, infrastructure, security and data architecture, and will act as the authority for designing solutions to address business requirements
  • Develop and maintain alfnaar enterprise software stack with focus on cloud architecture standards
  • Will cater for two speed IT providing business agility along maintaining major enterprise solutions roadmap for alfanar
  • Oversee adherence to the architecture strategy, principles and framework throughout group technology landscape
  • Maintain strategic business platforms and systems stack
  • Provide appropriate governance model to control shadow IT
  • Define the technology solution and environment roadmaps to ensure capacity and scalability, as demand and usage evolve within the business. This will be obtained through having visibility and understanding of the entire technology landscape
  • Oversee the vendor management and ecosystem building, working with key partners to ensure the implementation of the Roadmaps and Standards
  • Identify, assess and communicate risks related to the Roadmap
  • Ensure that systems are architected to be secure and resilient through the effective application of security and Business Continuity principles
  • Lead the definition and validation of architecture principles and standards
  • Keep up to date of Architecture, IT Strategy and technology innovation best practices and trends
  • Managing and maintaining the service catalogue
  • Develop and foster internal and external stakeholder communications
  • Budget planning and control over technology spending, and monitoring of project budgets.
  • Support the CDO in building the new customer centric digital products
  • Oversee IT PMO and planning function

  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses to achieve the optimum cost efficiency.

  • Develop the organizational structure according to the current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans.
  • Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deployment.

  • Develop, coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.
  • Should be conversant and able to navigate through IT solutions especially those relevant to his job and business.
  • Promote the automated systems and using them fully, to spread its culture.
