Industrial Complex, Riyadh

The center of alfanar’s industrial activities is alfanar Industrial Complex situated in the Third Industrial Zone on Al-Kharj Road, Riyadh.

Spread across 700,000 square meters, the Complex houses alfanar’s facilities.

The Complex has a comprehensive infrastructure including a data and communication center as well as a commercial zone.

Job Purpose

To safeguard the company’s intellectual property (IP) by drafting, filing, and managing patents and supporting strategic IP initiatives. The role focuses on identifying innovations, conducting prior art analysis, and ensuring freedom-to-operate across global markets. It collaborates closely with engineering, product management, and leadership teams to align IP strategies with business objectives, strengthen competitive positioning, and protect proprietary technologies.

Key Accountability Areas

Patent Drafting & Filing

  • Prepare clear, technically accurate descriptions, drawings, and claims to support patent applications.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to identify and document innovations during product development.
  • Coordinate with external patent attorneys and legal teams to ensure timely filing in local and international jurisdictions.

Patent Monitoring & Analysis

  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of competitor patents and market filings within the MV switchgear domain.
  • Perform prior art searches to assess risks and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Maintain and regularly update the company’s intellectual property (IP) portfolio and database.

IP Strategy & Protection

  • Develop and implement strategies to protect designs, patents, trade secrets, and proprietary information.
  • Provide guidance to engineering teams on designing with IP protection and freedom-to-operate in mind.
  • Evaluate potential infringement risks and recommend proactive mitigation actions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering, product management, and leadership teams to align IP initiatives with business strategy.
  • Deliver training sessions on IP awareness, confidentiality, and disclosure best practices.
  • Support licensing negotiations, partnership agreements, and litigation efforts when necessary.

  • Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
  • Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
  • Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

  • Solve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

  • Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.

  • Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.

Compliance:

  • Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.

Health, Safety, and Environment:

  • Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Any relevant field
