Insurance Specialist

Job Purpose

This position exists to perform Insurance activities efficiently, in timely manner and quality standards as per the defined policies and procedures to achieve departmental operational plans and developments.

Key Accountability Areas

  • Study the projects contracts and obtain the insurance requirements and plans.
  • Interpreting insurance requirements and determining coverage
  • Fill the related proposals forms and questionnaires with all supporting documents
  • Ask the insurance companies for insurance offers.
  • Prepare insurance offers comparison sheet and negotiate with insurance companies for best prices and terms
  • Follow with project managers and supply chain for insurance PO issuance
  • Get the insurance policies from the insurance companies.
  • Keep record of all insurance policies and their expiry dates
  • Follow with project managers and insurance companies for policies extension and renewals
  • Follow with accounts department and insurance companies for due premium payments and settlement of all statements of accounts and invoices.
  • Follow with group insurance specialist for all types of general insurances processes and declarations
  • Claims assessments, notifications and follow up with all related parties till complete settlement.
  • Maintain record of KYC documents for all insurance companies that has been dealt with
  • Perform any tasks related to the insurance programs issues
  • Maintain record of all insurance policies.
  • Monitor the expiry of the policies.
  • Claims processes.
  • Declarations.

  • Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

  • Solve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

  • Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.

Business Process Improvements:

  • Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.

Compliance:

  • Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.

Health, Safety, and Environment:

  • Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Finance or Any relevant field
