Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Navigation Systems Engineer to join our team in the development of navigation and control systems for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience working on industrial projects, with a successful track record in delivering navigation solutions. The role requires expertise in sensor fusion, path planning, localization, and real-time system optimization for industrial automation environments. The successful candidate must have experience integrating and deploying advanced navigation systems and working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

Key Accountability Areas

  1. Design and implement navigation algorithms for AGVs and AMRs, including localization, mapping (such as SLAM, topological, grid-based, ..etc), path planning, and obstacle avoidance.
  2. Integrate sensor data from LIDAR, IMU, GPS, and camera systems for precise vehicle positioning and environment perception.
  3. Develop and test robust real-time control systems for autonomous navigation in industrial environments, ensuring safety and reliability.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate navigation systems with vehicle hardware and software platforms.
  5. Perform system validation, testing, and troubleshooting of navigation algorithms and sensor systems in both simulated and real-world industrial scenarios.
  6. Optimize navigation algorithms for efficiency and performance in resource-constrained embedded systems.
  7. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for industrial automation and autonomous systems.
  8. Provide ongoing support and technical guidance to software and hardware teams during the lifecycle of navigation systems projects.
  9. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and advancements in navigation systems for AGVs and AMRs.

Role Accountability

  • 3 to 10 years of proven experience in developing and deploying navigation systems for AGVs, AMRs, or similar autonomous systems in industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in ROS (Robot Operating System) and experience with simulation tools such as Gazebo, RViz, or similar.
  • Experience with real-time systems and embedded software development in C/C++, Python, or other relevant languages.
  • Strong knowledge of sensor integration, including LIDAR, IMU, GPS, and camera systems.
  • Familiarity with algorithms for SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), path planning, and control.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in both hardware and software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
