Job Purpose
Supervise and directing the maintenance team and ensuring machine maintenance executed promptly and coordinating with production team and fulfilling the production line requirements.
Key Accountability Areas
Planning:
- Schedule preventive maintenance according to manufacturer requirements.
- Plan necessary spare parts and machine maintenance.
- Manage manpower, including vacation schedules, shift schedules, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Assign manpower to the appropriate departments.
Execution and Supervision:
- Monitor technicians and their conduct, reporting any irregularities to the department manager.
- Ensure proper machine maintenance and smooth operations.
- Assist technicians in resolving major breakdowns.
- Provide technical training for newly installed and existing machines.
- Suggest or implement modifications to improve machine efficiency.
- Assist the manager with the installation of new machines.
- Control spare parts inventory.
- Ensure the mechanical team wears proper PPE.
- Monitor and implement MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) to reduce breakdown time.
- Allocate work judiciously and boost departmental employee morale and motivation.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required by the organization.
- Have knowledge of machine handling and services.
Coordination:
- Work closely with the production team to ensure production flows smoothly and efficiently.
- Coordinate with the purchase team to maintain optimal spares availability.
- Collaborate with all department staff for efficient plant operations.
- Work with contractors to ensure proper execution of tasks.
- Coordinate with ER and HR departments to arrange manpower as needed.
Training:
- Provide timely training for technicians and foremen.
- Organize training sessions from machine suppliers for all technicians and foremen.
Compliance:
- Ensure all IMS requirements are met.
- Implement and follow safety procedures within the department.
- Maintain and monitor the proper functioning of safety equipment in the workplace.
Analysis and Achievements:
- Maintain maintenance records, history cards, and machine drawings.
- Prepare achievement reports.
- Analyze actual breakdowns and spare parts consumption versus targets and address repetitive breakdowns.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze repetitive breakdowns to plan for reducing MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and increasing MTBF.
