Job Purpose

Ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and adherence to quality standards of the reports generated for provided services. Play a critical role in evaluating and validating the data presented in Power BI reports to support decision-making processes and drive business outcomes. Involved in implementing quality control measures, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance the overall data reporting and analysis process.

Key Accountability Areas

Report Validation and Accuracy:

  • Create and review and validate Power BI reports to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Cross-check data sources, calculations, and visualizations for consistency and correctness.
  • Identify and rectify any data discrepancies or inaccuracies in the reports.

Quality Control Measures:

  • Develop and implement quality control processes and standards for Power BI reporting.
  • Establish guidelines and best practices for report creation and maintenance.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess the compliance of reports with quality standards.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Analyze the data presented in Power BI reports to extract meaningful insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data analysis needs and requirements.
  • Present data in a clear and understandable format for decision-makers.

Report Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities to improve report performance, visualizations, and user experience.
  • Optimize data queries and report load times to enhance efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Work with data engineers and developers to implement report enhancements.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

  • Investigate and resolve issues related to data discrepancies, report errors, or performance problems.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users encountering report-related challenges.
  • Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams for resolution.

Data Governance and Security:

  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies and data security measures.
  • Implement access controls and data protection mechanisms for Power BI reports.
  • Monitor and address potential data breaches or unauthorized access to reports.

Documentation and Training:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for report creation, validation, and maintenance processes.
  • Conduct training sessions for report creators and users to promote best practices and data literacy.
  • Provide guidance on data visualization techniques to improve report effectiveness.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features, updates, and industry trends.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the reporting process and promote data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the data analytics team to drive data-driven initiatives.

  • Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deployment.

  • Should be conversant and able to navigate through IT solutions especially those relevant to his job and business.
