Section Manager, Material & Production Planning | alfanar Electric

Job Purpose

To manage the execution of material and production planning activities within the section, ensuring timely availability of materials, efficient production scheduling, and alignment with customer demand. The role coordinates with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to optimize resources, maintain inventory balance, and support the achievement of delivery, cost, and quality objectives.

Key Accountability Areas

Material Planning Execution

  • Implement material planning processes in alignment with departmental strategies and operational requirements.
  • Review and validate material requirements based on sales forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials.

Production Planning and Scheduling

  • Develop and update detailed production schedules to meet delivery commitments and optimize plant capacity.
  • Monitor work orders and production progress, identifying and resolving delays or bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors to align scheduling with resource availability.

Inventory Monitoring

  • Track raw material, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Recommend adjustments to inventory policies to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate inventory records.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Liaise with sales, procurement, warehouse, and quality control teams to ensure alignment of material and production plans.
  • Participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to provide input on capacity and material availability.

Performance Tracking and Reporting

  • Monitor section KPIs related to material availability, production adherence, and delivery performance.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to higher management, highlighting risks and recommending improvements.

Risk Awareness and Problem Resolution

  • Identify potential risks in material supply or production schedules and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Address operational issues affecting production targets in coordination with relevant teams.

  • Provide periodic work progress reports.
  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses to achieve the optimum cost efficiency.

Organizational Development:

  • Develop the organizational structure according to the current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans.
  • Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deployment.

Business Process Improvements:

  • Develop, coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.
  • Should be conversant and able to navigate through IT solutions especially those relevant to his job and business.
  • Promote the automated systems and using them fully, to spread its culture.

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
