Section Manager R&D Cables Factory - alfanar Electric



Job Purpose

This position exist to take full responsibility of overall management of Research & Development department .
Plan, develop ,execute and monitor its activities and related systems by optimum resources at efficient cost.
Deliver as per company quality standards.
Manage the risks and opportunities to bring the department to a further step.

Key Accountability Areas

·       Actively collaborates with factory departments, alfanar trading departments and alfanar subsidiaries to ensure that project technical specifications are understood and accepted.
·       Proposes new concepts for new product lines. Investigates patentable concepts as well as solutions by coordinating with the team and other business units.
·       Establishing project goals and priorities by collaborating with Marketing and Operations.
·       Managing the planning, implementation, completing and documenting engineering builds into industrialization.
·       Traveling for business, technical meetings, trainings, type testing, outsourcing and new developments.
·       Directs laboratory testing, conducts data analysis, creates corrective action plans to address nonconformity revealed by testing.
·       Assess Marketing intelligence in terms of knowing the competitiveness of our products against competitors in Saudi Market as well as international markets.
·       Understanding customer expectations on to-be manufactured products as well as coordinating with different business units to achieve the required cooperation.
·       Determining and executing improved technologies used by suppliers, competitors and customer.
·       Perform costing of Ring Main Units, CPQ implementation of all MV products and prequalification files.

• Provide periodic work progress reports.
• Responsible for monitoring and control budgets and expenses to achieve the optimum cost efficiency.
 Organizational Development:
 • Develop the organizational structure according to the current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans.
• Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deploy them.

 Business Process Improvements (Effectiveness): 
 • Develop, coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automations opportunities as much as possible. 
• Should be conversant and able to navigate through IT solutions especially those relevant to his job and business.
• Promote the automated systems and using them fully, to spread its culture.

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
