Job Purpose

Efficiently generate CNC programs for punching and punching laser combination machines.

Key Accountability Areas

CNC Programming:

• Develop CNC programs for machining electrical components based on engineering drawings and specifications.
• Optimize programs for efficiency, tool life, and production output.

Tool Selection and Setup:

• Select appropriate cutting tools and ensure their proper setup in CNC machines.
• Collaborate with the tooling and production teams to enhance machining processes.

Machine Operation Oversight:

• Oversee the operation of CNC machines, ensuring they run efficiently and produce high-quality components.
• Monitor machine parameters, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments as necessary.

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct regular inspections of machined components to ensure they meet or exceed specified tolerances and quality standards.
• Implement quality control measures in CNC processes.

Material Management:

• Collaborate with the materials and procurement teams to ensure the availability of required raw materials for machining.
• Monitor and optimize material usage to minimize waste.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, tool setups, and production runs.
• Generate comprehensive reports on machining activities, quality assessments, and any deviations from standards.

Safety Compliance:

• Ensure all CNC machining activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
• Promote and enforce a safety-first culture within the CNC machining team.

Continuous Improvement:

• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in CNC machining operations.
• Implement changes to enhance productivity while maintaining high precision.

Training and Development:

• Provide training to CNC machine operators on new programs, techniques, and safety procedures.
• Encourage ongoing skill development within the CNC machining team.

Collaboration with Engineering:

• Collaborate with the engineering team to interpret and clarify design specifications.
• Participate in design reviews to provide insights on manufacturability.
