Job Purpose
This position exists to develop and implement computer network systems, efficiently, in timely manner and quality standards as per the defined policies and procedures to achieve departmental operational plans and developments.
Key Accountability Areas
Network Infrastructure:
- Translate key business requirements into network design with deep understanding and experience of Network Switches, Network Routing, MPLS, Network administration, Network integration, and network advancement to provide a secure and stable infrastructure across alfanar.
- Plan and design wireless, network security, LAN, WAN, and external network data connections with multiple years’ experience designing, developing, configuring, implementing, and managing enterprise networks with diverse solutions from multiple vendors.
Compliance:
- Implement software-defined networking and network-function virtualization to meet IT department compliance.
Business Improvement:
- Develop and implement migration solutions for acquired networks, private clouds such as VMWare and OpenStack to meet business requirements.
- Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
- Upgrade security systems by monitoring security environment; identifying security gaps; evaluating and implementing enhancements.
Business Operations:
- Responsible for designing and overseeing the configuration of secure enterprise network systems.
- Evaluate, design, architect, test, deploy, configure, administrate, and maintain the alfanar systems security and configurations.
- Determine baseline Network security configuration standards for operating systems (e.g., operating system hardening), network segmentation, and identity and access management (IAM).
- Ensure that a complete, accurate and valid inventory of all systems, infrastructure and applications are conducted and logged from Network by SIEM or log management tool.
- Design and define highly complex, critical, and diverse architectures for security devices, electronic data traffic, network access, cryptography, and access control.
- Maintain LAN, WAN, and server architecture.
- Implement security systems by specifying Network intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; directing equipment and software installation and calibration; preparing preventive and reactive measures; creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys; providing technical support; completing documentation.
Best Practice:
- Establish best practices and industry standard controls and baseline configurations for a variety of services, systems, devices, endpoints, data, and 3rd party solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IT Security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
- Analyze and implement new security protocols and technologies.
Vendor Coordination:
- Work with vendors to configure optimize Information Security solutions and/or systems for alfanar system.
Security Management:
- Manage security responsibilities, including firewalls, proxy systems, logging, and other security devices.
Reports:
- Create and review reports on event anomalies.
- Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for further system security enhancement.
Policies and Procedures:
- Apply network security policies and provide network security expertise to the company.
- Maintain security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; developing and conducting training programs.
