Job Purpose

The role involves designing and optimizing metal fabrication projects, creating models, performing simulations, and selecting materials. Responsibilities include leading industrialization, managing prototypes, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals, budgets, and timelines while driving continuous improvement.

Key Accountability Areas

  • Conceptualization and Design Development:

Develop creative, cost-effective, and manufacturable design concepts for metal fabrication projects.
Create detailed mechanical designs, focusing on manufacturability and ease of assembly.
Modeling and Simulation:

  • Use software to create detailed models of mechanical components and systems.

Perform simulations (stress, thermal, motion) to validate designs for performance and durability.
Material Selection and Engineering Analysis:

  • Select materials based on strength, durability, cost, and manufacturability.

Conduct structural and thermal analyses to assess design integrity under various conditions.

  • Industrialization and Manufacturing Optimization:

Lead industrialization by developing processes and methodologies for mass production.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost-effective fabrication and assembly.

  • Prototyping and Testing:

Work with prototype teams to build and test physical prototypes.

Analyze results, refine designs, and ensure smooth transition to full-scale production.

  • Design Documentation and Reporting:

Produce comprehensive design documentation, including 3D models, drawings, and analysis reports.
Ensure documentation complies with company standards and industry regulations.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to integrate and optimize designs.
Ensure designs meet quality standards and regulations.

  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

Identify opportunities to improve designs and manufacturing processes for better performance and efficiency.
Stay updated on trends and implement innovations to enhance designs and workflows.

  • Project Management and Coordination:

Manage multiple design and industrialization projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
Provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, and milestones.

  • Cost Estimation and Budget Adherence:

Develop cost estimates with project managers and ensure designs stay within budget while meeting quality standards.

  • Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure designs and processes comply with industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
Collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure compliance for market entry.

Role Accountability

HR Proficiency:

  • Training of sub-ordinates and forming a team to get the work effectively.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
  • Delegate sub-ordinates in each respective assignment.
  • Ensures fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale, motivation of subordinates.

Delivery:

  • Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
  • Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
  • Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

Problem-Solving:

  • Resolve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

Quality:

  • Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.

Business Process Improvements:

  • Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automations opportunities as much as possible.

Compliance:

  • Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.

Safety:

  • Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
