Supplier Development Manager | alfanar Electric

Job Purpose

Oversee and drive initiatives for developing and optimizing supplier relationships. Lead the team in enhancing supplier capabilities, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Accountability Areas

Process Development:

• Responsible for the development and implementation of supplier development processes, procedures, and training requirements

Business Commodity Support:

• Collaborate with business Commodity Management and support the identification of potential suppliers for development in accordance with company standards, policies & procedures.

Supplier Evaluation & Qualification:

• Support business areas requirements for supplier qualification, evaluation and selection based on suppliers manufacturing capabilities and abilities to meet alfanar defined requirements.

Supplier Relationship Management:

• Support building and maintaining strong relationships with the supplier, to ensure supply alternative availability, continues improvements and cost optimization.

Supplier Development Initiatives:

• Support supplier development initiatives to enhance supplier capabilities and technological advancements.

Strategic Alignment:

• Ensure alignment with AES manufacturing objectives and procurement strategies to drive innovation and support the product enhancement projects.

Risk Management:

• Support the identification and Development of new suppliers, and or approve suppliers’ new products to mitigate supply risks and ensure continues raw materials supply in accordance with AES production requirement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with and support Business Areas / Factories, R&D,  procurement, quality, SC Planning, and other departments to provide support and guidance for supplier development best practices.

• Monitor the plan performance and initiate action to strengthen results and take the corrective action accordingly.
• Provide periodic work progress reports.
• Responsible for monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses to achieve the optimum cost efficiency.

Organizational Development:

• Develop the organizational structure according to the current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans.
• Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deployment.

Business Process Improvements:

• Develop, coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.
• Should be conversant and able to navigate through IT solutions especially those relevant to his job and business.
• Promote the automated systems and using them fully, to spread its culture.

Quality:

• Quality is considered as alfanar’s prime competitive advantage as such, managers are expected to act accordingly.
