Responsibilities

  1. Motor Winding:

    • Wind stators, rotors, and armatures of various types and sizes of motors according to specifications.
    • Select appropriate wire size, insulation, and winding techniques based on motor requirements.
    • Ensure proper tension and alignment of windings to prevent motor failures and ensure optimal performance.
  2. Motor Repair:

    • Diagnose and troubleshoot motor issues to determine necessary repairs.
    • Replace defective parts such as bearings, brushes, and seals.
    • Test repaired motors to ensure they meet operational standards and specifications.
  3. Quality Assurance:

    • Inspect completed windings and repairs for quality and accuracy.
    • Ensure compliance with company and industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
    • Document work performed, including specifications, parts used, and test results.
  4. Equipment Maintenance:

    • Maintain and calibrate winding and testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.
  5. Team Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to coordinate motor winding and repair projects.
    • Provide guidance and training to junior winders and apprentices as needed.

Key Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical or mechanical fields preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Motors Winder or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of motor winding techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
