Job Purpose

A catering supervisor is responsible for planning and supervising food services, especially from outsourced catering through vendor for special groups and gatherings.

Key Accountability Areas

The job description may include participating in the selection of staff, promoting, preparing, and conducting special activities, events, and presentations in support of the program, establishing and maintaining catering event service standards, and maintaining records and preparing reports related to event planning, ordering, and billing.

A catering supervisor job requires a high school graduation or equivalent qualifications.

Good organizational and interpersonal skills are very important.

A catering supervisor should have adequate knowledge of food service organization and operations.
