Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Engineer, Planning with a focus on steel structure to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of steel structure projects to ensure timely and efficient delivery. This role requires a strong understanding of steel structure design and fabrication processes, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Accountability Areas
Scheduling Management:
- Developing the fully integrated Baseline EPC Level 3 schedules in primavera P6
- Developing Level 2 Schedules to support Proposals.
- Monthly updates of Project Master Level 3 schedules
- Conduct Critical Path Analyses and recommend mitigating actions where necessary.
- Production of progress, productive curves and earned value reporting.
- Regular project team reviews, Public Planning Meeting and Last Planner Meetings.
- Recovery schedules, revised baselines, delay analysis etc.
- Attending Lead Engineer’s Meetings.
- Highlight delays in advance to the project control manager/project manager.
Cost Control Management:
- Support project team in development of action plans to avoid / minimize cost / schedule overruns.
- Track budget and highlight budget impacts to the project control manager.
- Budget update in SAP
- Review target budgets in conjunction with engineering, project and construction management.
Contract Deliverables:
- Support the change control process, establishing the necessary forms, logs and expediting methods.
- Support Risk register development
- Invoicing
Resource planning:
- Initiate day-to-day discussions with all groups involved in a project to assess the change / schedule implication of ongoing work.
- Estimation of resources based on site productivity.
Reporting:
- Responsible for project updates and monthly progress reports, schedule forecasts and updates with impact of changes.
- Responsible for actual and forecast progress curves and staffing histograms.
- Collection of information / production of monthly Status Reports for Project Managers.
- Production / issue of formal reports (with input from Projects).
- Initiating ad hoc progress reports to facilitate effective controls within EPC.
- Provide statistical data for management reviews.
Role Accountability
• Plan and schedule steel structure projects to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
• Develop project schedules, resource plans, and budgets.
• Monitor project progress and take corrective action when necessary.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
• Manage project risks and issues, and develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
